ZDF SD Astra1 Satellite Switch OFF 18/11/2025
On the 18/11/2025 German TV Provider ZDF is switching off its SD satellite broadcasts on the ASTRA1 Satellite, meaning the channels ZDF, ZDFneo, ZDFinfo, 3sat, and KiKA will only be available in HD.
Viewers with older SD Satellite Receivers will need an HD-capable receiver to continue watching these channels; older, non-HD receivers will no longer work.
If you have an HD receiver you do not need to take any action although may need to retune your existing receiver.
